9 months to Lose the Baby Fat? Really?
I shared this quote in a recent newsletter that was taken right from a post pregnancy weight loss site:
"New moms need to remember that it took nine months to gain the weight - at least that much time needs to be allotted for the way back."
The cycling of such misinformation is preventing so many new and seasoned moms alike -from reaching sure and steady post baby weight loss.
Trust me I know! I too believed this. After Tyler was born, I was told I will lose excess weight over time - being fed the same line, 9 months on, 9 months off. Even worse.... it was also made clear that my body wold never be the same. I even remember packing up all my "skinny" jeans!
How discouraging is that!
Since then I found a solution and my passion as I have been helping moms to not only see that they could lose the baby fat, but achieve a brand new body in the process.
Many of the moms I work with are astounded by the fact that they are in better shape NOW - After having children.
About 3 weeks ago, I shared a Fit Yummy Mummy Success Story with you. New mom, Mandy, was so excited to share that she had achieved her pre-pregnancy weight a mere 15 weeks after the birth of her son.
I reached my pre-pregnancy weight this week - my son is only 15 weeks old - and everyone kept telling me - you put the weight on over 9 months, it will take you at least that long to take it off.
So my biggest regret at this point is not starting the Fit Yummy Mummy System sooner!

This story begins a few weeks ago when I started Fit Yummy Mummy - I sent my sister and my mom an email with the subject 'the _____ women are shrinking'.
I encouraged them to join me in a pact that involves all of us supporting each other in our weight loss efforts. We have weighed in every Friday since then - our goal date was last Friday when my Mom and Dad left for a cruise.
I started them off with a meeting - (we are all following different plans - whichever we find works for each of us) - I told them I was really excited because I am never going on another diet (because Fit Yummy Mummy is the answer to my prayers).
I gave them each a goodie bag with tools for success - a note pad and pen for journaling, measuring cups for portion control, a water bottle to encourage them to drink water.
A few weeks in, I encouraged my Dad to join us - he is very overweight and carries a dangerous amount of fat around his middle. In addition, he has high blood pressure, and a family history of diabetes. (He once called all his buddies to report that one of their friends had had a mild heart attack - and joked that they all thought it would be him (my Dad) that had the first heart attack - not a laughing matter). Dad said he would think about it - he doesn't want anyone to know that he is trying to lose weight.
Shortly after, my Mom reported that he had been eating healthier - but he was cranky. She reported each week that she thought that he had lost a few lbs.
Last week (our goal week) my Mom said that she caught Dad looking at himself in the mirror - he turned to her and said - "I haven't worn these jeans in years!' - he has lost 18lbs and Mom says he is in a much better mood now that he is seeing the results of his hard work!
My sister has lost 6lbs, my mom has lost 11lbs and I have lost 12lbs - we are all losers!
My family has lost 47lbs in 8 weeks!
We have all sworn to continue in our efforts to achieve our goal weight once Mom and Dad return from their cruise, and of course to support each other along the way." ~ Mandy
