How do you plan to stay fit during these fabulous summer events?

July marks vacation time for many families, including my own. Having a plan in place will make the difference between truly enjoying the outdoor activities with confidence or holding yourself back out of the fear of what your body looks like to others.

There are many tempting summer habits that can hold you back from losing those embarrassing pounds of fat. Most of us seeking a relaxing escape from reality tend to overindulge in unhealthy choices, leaving exercise and supportive eating at home. The assumption is that one week won’t sabotage your weight.

Think again! Did you know…. Vacation weight gain is connected with eating over 4,000 calories a day?

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a relaxing vacation and return with nothing more than amazing memories. You’ve put the effort forth in planning a fantastic get-a-way, why not put the same effort in planning how you will return with a better body than you are currently in.

With the right strategies in place, you can guarantee a super charged metabolism that helps you burn fat throughout the month of July- no matter what special event you take part in. Achieving your flat tummy goal is absolutley attainable - after all July is Abs Month!

Freedom from Fat: Five Fat Burning Tips for an Effective Summer Fitness Plan

1. Remember WHY

If the goal is to feel sexy and confident in your cutest summer outfits or to feel refreshed after you vacation, why abandon all of your healthy habits only to end up feeling like you need to be a “slave” to your workouts in order to make up for all the weight you gained. No amount of eating or drinking is worth the effort it will take to remove those excess pounds.

2. Prevention is Key

In the long run, prevention is always better than the cure.
If you already know ahead of time that you will be practicing in some overindulgence. Vamp up your exercise habits and fine tune what you are eating NOW
. The best part about this type of routine is that you have a deadline. This will help keep you motivated to stick to your fitness goals.

Going on a week long vacation? Plan to begin 4 weeks prior to leaving. This gives you the opportunity to lose 8 pounds of fat – all before you leave!


3. Meal Management

WARNING: The last thing you want to do prior to, during or after a summer event is to not eat. If you choose to skip your meals, two wonderful things happen to your body.

First, your metabolism slows down.

Next since you brain thinks that you are starving it will tell your body to store any food that it does receive in the form of fat.

Skipping Meals = Weight Gain!

The best thing you can do for your body is to begin each day with breakfast and eat a supportive meal or snack every 3 hours. This in turn will fuel your metabolism, provide you with an abundance of energy and allow your body to burn more fat 24-7.

4. Plan Your Splurges

If you know you will be enjoying a bountiful lunch, avoid overindulging during breakfast. Instead make your other meals that day light and more supportive. Keep in mind that a typical restaurant entrĂ©e is about 1500 calories – that does not include bread, appetizer or dessert.

Having a cookout? Nibbling will also add very quickly to your calorie count. Decide ahead of time what you plan to indulge in and make more supportive choices until that meal.

5. Forget the Gym

Hi, I leave all the way in Africa although I can't pay for any of the books, I think everthing I have read so far is wanderful and true, because I have tried some of Geary's advice and they work miracles believe you me.

Keep it up, you are doing a wonderful job.
