It's Okay to Say No

You are Entitled to a Life

"OK, well this day has royally stunk. I have a stuffed up nose, work is piled to my eyeballs, and my darling sweet toddler is feeding off of my stress and acting up and tantruming all day...So it stressed me out even more... and now I am still working on work and have not exercised yet and it is 10pm!

Why does it seem complicated to take out 30 minutes to myself?!!?"

Sound familiar?

Well Kelly Alford, a Fit Yummy Mummy in the making, is absolutely not alone. As busy moms we do try to Do It All - then at the end of the day, we are left to scramble for just a moment of sanity.

For many of us - once that moment arrives, we look up and no longer recognize ourselves - our health is suffering, we've lost our body, we wonder where the time has gone when we look at our children....

Take a breath Moms - it not longer has to continue like this. You have the freedom to choose a better way to live your life - you are entitled to a life!

Kelly's personal story inspired me to share this with you.

It is time to slow down and consider your own needs. Trying to continue the pace at what you have been giving - you will soon run yourself empty.

Taking care of yourself in turn will do wonders...
~ less stress
~ less irritability
~ less anxiety
~ More satisfaction with yourself and those around you

With consistent Self-Care you will feel...
~ energized
~ centered
~ strong
~ willing to do what it takes

Imagine the possibilities when you feel like you are in the driver's seat of your life - which is exactly where you belong! Which is something you can acquire - for it all boils down to the choices we make on a daily basis.

Take a good honest look at how you are spending your time each day.

When you find yourself jumping to the demands of others - slow down and remember that you are just as entitled to your time as well. And it is perfectly okay to say "No".

Try it and see - the world does not fall apart. In fact do it often and you will find the world around you and inside of you is a much more beautiful place.

My picture is just a reminder that amidst the chaos of our daily lives...it is possible to slow yourself down and take a moment to be grateful for and appreciate the small things around you.

Great post Holly, I hope every mom gives herself a bit more time to herself each day.
